Privacy

Strange Phrases is designed to be explored without an account. We do not run advertising or audience-analytics scripts.

Saved phrases stay in your browser

The Saved feature uses your browser’s local storage. The list remains on the device and browser where you saved it; it is not sent to our server and does not require an account. You can remove individual phrases or clear the whole list at any time.

Messages and phrase suggestions

When you use a contact or suggestion form, we receive the information you enter, including your email address, by email. We use it to review the contribution, answer the message, or ask for clarification. Please do not include sensitive personal information.

Security and server logs

Like most websites, the hosting server may temporarily record technical details such as an IP address, requested URL, browser information, response status, and time of access. These records support reliability, troubleshooting, and protection against abuse.

Third-party services

Contact and suggestion forms use Google reCAPTCHA to distinguish genuine submissions from automated abuse. Google’s own privacy policy and terms apply when that service loads. Phrase pages also link to external research sources; visiting those sites is governed by their policies.

Your choices

You can browse the catalogue without submitting personal information. You can clear saved phrases through the Saved page or through your browser’s site-data controls. For a privacy question about information you sent through a form, send us a message.
